- The weather is finally getting warmer – time to dust off your gardening tools and head to Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville to grab the season’s annuals for a burst of color and perennials for step-and-repeat blooms. Oh, and while you’re at it, stop by their beer garden for delicious craft brews on tap (and in cans) from Beer Farm and tasty eats from food trucks like Benny’s Woodfired Pizza. Order the pepperoni with basil and hot honey pizza, and Beer Farm’s Oriole Summer Ale (the first of their summer series)…you won’t regret it! There’s plenty of picnic bench seating both outside and under a tent on the patio. The beer garden is family-friendly, with corn holes, tic-tac-toe boards, and coloring pages with crayons. Proceeds will benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. The beer garden is open Saturdays and Sundays this Spring, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Speaking of food trucks, have you checked out the Annapolis Moms Media’s Spring issue of The Motherlode? Page 40 lists 12 food trucks we love in and around Annapolis!
- Mark your calendars, oyster lovers! The Annapolis Market Space Oyster Festival is on Sunday, April 21 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Indulge in a shuck-tacular experience while supporting the Oyster Recovery Partnership’s (ORP) restoration efforts. Grab a tasting passport and enjoy oysters from McGarvey’s, Market House, Middleton Tavern, Iron Rooster, and Federal House. Wash down those briny bites with a cold brew from Guinness, featuring their perfect pour certification and specialty pairings with oysters and beer. ORP will also have Shuck Like a Pro one-on-one demonstrations and Priddy Music Academy will provide live entertainment for the whole family. Don’t miss out on this shucking good time!
