The Maryland State Fair, which takes place over three weekends from August 21 to September 7, is the perfect way to cap off the summer and kickstart the fall. With food, rides, entertainment, and special events, this year’s fair offers something for everyone.
Concerts
This year’s concert series features The Marshall Tucker Band, Maddox Batson, and Sunday Morning Tunes.
- The Marshall Tucker Band performs Friday, September 5 (gates open at 6 p.m., show at 7 p.m.).
- Maddox Batson follows on Saturday, September 6, with the same schedule.
- Sunday Morning Tunes closes out the fair on September 7, starting at 11:30 a.m. (gates at 11 a.m.).
General admission lawn tickets are $40 per person for Friday and Saturday, while Sunday’s show is $25 for adults, $16 for children 11 and under, or $80 for a family four-pack.
Sensory-Friendly Morning
A highlight this year is the sensory friendly morning, taking place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, September 5. The grounds will become a peaceful, sensory-friendly space filled with hands-on experiences, opportunities to pet and play with the farm animals, VIP tours, inclusive activities, and, most importantly of all, no loud music or flashing lights on the midway!
Food & Shopping
From classic fair staples like funnel cakes, corn dogs, and turkey legs to just about anything you can imagine dropped in a fryer, the Maryland State Fair is a paradise for food lovers. And since it wouldn’t be Maryland without it, you’re guaranteed to find plenty of dishes dusted with Old Bay seasoning. Beyond the eats, visitors can also browse handcrafted goods and one-of-a-kind items from local vendors.
Discounts
Let’s talk discounts! There are still some ways to save money on tickets this year. M&T Bank is bringing a $5 Friday deal, set for September 5, for guests to enjoy $5 food specials all day long. With a valid student ID, college students can receive a discounted $26 unlimited ride wristband and $8 entry, every Thursday at the Fair!
