The Robinson Nature Center in Columbia is a great choice for a weekend adventure, especially when we have these mild winter days. You can spend some time both inside and outside. This place definitely has it all! They have large static displays that you can walk through and learn about local nature, an entire kid’s room with toys to play with, books to read, animals to see, costumes to try on, and they even have a touch tank where kids can touch starfish and urchins and other interesting creatures. They have a fun outdoor play area with slides, swings, other stations and terrific trails. You could easily spend a few hours here. There is a new Full Digital Dome Planetarium with films about astronauts, dinosaurs, stars, wild weather, the ice age and most anything else children are fascinated by. We have yet to make it for a show and hope to do so in the near future.
