November is National Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich histories, cultures and traditions of Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas.
Learning about different cultures and perspectives helps children develop empathy, respect and a better understanding of the world around them. This November, families can explore Native American history and heritage through local events, books and educational activities.
The Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) is celebrating Native American Heritage Month with programs that highlight the traditions, stories and contributions of Native Americans. From dance performances to cooking classes, there are plenty of opportunities for the whole family to learn something new.
