  1. Harwood Man Charged in Shooting Death of Belgian Malinois, Maisie

A 70-year-old Harwood, Maryland, resident has been charged with animal cruelty following the suspected shooting death of a Belgian Malinois named Maisie. The dog was reported missing on April 23, 2025, and authorities believe she was fatally shot, though her remains have not been found. The Anne Arundel County Police Department urges anyone with information to contact their Southern District Detectives.

2. Seven Charged in Violent Bank ‘Jugging’ Robbery Spree Across Five Maryland Counties

Seven individuals aged 19 to 25 have been indicted for a series of violent bank “jugging” robberies across five Maryland counties, including Anne Arundel and Prince George’s. The suspects allegedly followed victims from banks and committed armed robberies, resulting in over $155,000 stolen. Charges include armed robbery, attempted murder, and gang participation.

3. 86 State Circle: A New Luxury Boutique Hotel Opening in Annapolis on May 15

Opening May 15, 2025, 86 State Circle is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Annapolis, Maryland. The nine-room hotel blends historic architecture with modern amenities, featuring heated marble bathroom floors and a guest-only speakeasy lounge. 4.80th Annual Crab Feast Scheduled for August 1st

The Rotary Club of Annapolis announces the 80th Annual Crab Feast, set for August 1, 2025, at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This all-you-can-eat event features Maryland blue crabs and supports local charities. It’s a must-attend summer tradition for seafood lovers and community supporters in Annapolis. 5. Maryland State Parks to Require Advance Reservations Starting May 19

This initiative aims to ensure smoother access during peak times.
