Local Food Finds | Craft Sammies, Grilled Cheese Fest, Restaurant Week

February 18, 2025 by Sarah Amyot

Your weekly dose of some cool food and dining finds around town!

Have a suggestion? We’d love to hear from you – submit it HERE!

  • The phrase “full on” means to hold nothing back, and Full On Craft Eats & Drinks takes this very seriously with every dish they create. From sauces and dressings to sides and desserts, every menu item is made in-house. Full On is the perfect lunch spot for craft sandwiches, house-made chips, and hand-battered onion rings. Favorites include the Le Pilgrim (a hearty combination of fresh roasted turkey, cranberry-pecan relish, mashed potatoes, cornbread and apple stuffing, and herb mayo on French loaf, served with a savory gravy dunker), the Red, White & Blue (roasted turkey, applewood smoked bacon, arugula, roasted red peppers, and herbed blue cheese on sourdough), and the Portobello Caprese (roasted portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomato, balsamic, fresh mozzarella, and herb mayo on French loaf).
    • P.S. Full On is family-friendly, with plenty of high chairs and a kids’ menu.
  • Here’s a roundup of a few exciting “foodie” events this weekend:
    • Attention, grilled cheese lovers! Lures Bar and Grill is hosting their 3rd Annual Grilled Cheese Fest this weekend, February 21 to February 23, and it’s going to be cheesier than ever. They are bringing 10 one-of-a-kind, indulgent grilled cheese creations to the table. Plus, Other Half Brewing DC is taking over the taps for the weekend. Don’t miss out!
    • Naval Bagels Annapolis will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this Saturday, February 22 at their Annapolis location (609A Taylor Ave). Every $10 you spend earns you a  raffle entry for prizes from local businesses such as McGarveys, Black Market Bakers, Chick-fil-A, Ceremony Coffee, Adams on 4th, Game On Bar + Arcade, and many others! A portion of their sales that day will also be donated to Hospice of the Chesapeake. Join the celebration!
    • Why not enjoy drinks with friends while supporting a good cause? Vida Taco Bar in Severna Park will allow local guest bartenders to fundraise for their preferred nonprofit on Saturday evenings from January through March. Join Vida Taco this Saturday, February 22, to support Impact100 Greater Chesapeake – 10% of sales and 25% of tips for the entire day will be donated! From 6:00 pm to 9:00  pm, Sarah, your very own Local Food Finds writer, will be behind the bar, serving up your favorite drinks. Come sip, support, and make a difference!
    • Gather your friends and family for another round of Annapolis Restaurant Week, which starts this weekend, from February 22 to March 2. Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe menus for you to enjoy and some will even offer additional bonus specials! Check out the menus today and plan your week. Be sure to make reservations in advance for this highly anticipated event!
