  1. Former Register of Wills Charged With Shoplifting at Walmart

Erica Griswold, the former Anne Arundel County Register of Wills, has been charged with misdemeanor theft after allegedly shoplifting $161 worth of household items from the Walmart in Severn. The incident took place on March 25, 2025, and involved items like sheets, curtains, and bathroom accessories. Griswold, who was previously removed from office following misconduct, now faces additional legal troubles from this latest charge.

  1. DC Police and US Marshals Locate, Arrest Suspect in Clay Street Murder

Police have arrested 28-year-old Roscoe Jerome Jones in connection with the March 19, 2025, homicide of John Simms Jr. on Clay Street in Annapolis. Jones was apprehended in Washington, D.C. on an unrelated warrant, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Metropolitan Police Department. He is awaiting extradition to Anne Arundel County.
