  1. Annapolis Police Make Arrest in 36-Year-Old Case

Annapolis Police have arrested William Cook Jr., of Annapolis, in the 1989 cold case homicide of Garnet Elizabeth Griffith after reopening the investigation and following new leads; police say Griffith was found deceased in her home on Kensington Way on January 12, 1989, suffering from a gunshot wound. The police had a match on the DNA back in 2022, but could not say why there was a three year delay in apprehending the suspect.
