Maryland Women Suffrage Movement
August 18, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$28.52In celebration of the ratification of the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote (August 18, 1920), join local history interpreter, Pat Turlington, for an inspirational presentation about the achievements of several notable Maryland women as they traveled the road to suffrage at Rising Sun Inn.
Pat Turlington began her tour guiding journey with Three Centuries Tours. Now, she has been with Watermark Tours for over 30 years. Within those years, she volunteered in the State House for several years giving tours. For the past 15 years she has been a Paca Garden docent and volunteer for Hogshead. She’s also been a participant in living history for Historic Annapolis. In 2017, she received the Interpreter of the Year Award. She is looking forward to sharing the story of what was expected of women in society and the strength of the women making their mark with her-story in 1910-1920.
We look forward to you joining us for this very special program about Maryland women and their achievements. Light refreshments will be served and guests are free to tour the Inn following the presentation.
