What better way to escape the cold than gathering with friends and family at one of our many local breweries? There’s no better time than FeBREWary, the month-long celebration of Maryland craft beer. We’ve rounded up some of the best spots to grab a drink, make memories, and try something new.
Chessie’s Wharf

Highlighted by its singing fishes on the wall, Chessie’s is truly a place you have to experience! Nestled in West Annapolis, this taproom features 38 draft selections, all from the Cambridge-based RAR brewery. Open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM, this has quickly become one of the go-to spots for a drink and bite in Annapolis. Featuring classic apps like wings, crab dip, and a jumbo crab pretzel, the menu keeps going from there with 16 different sandwich options. The patio seating creates a fantastic dinner environment on a nice evening out. Peake Social, Annapolis’ main adult sports league, hosts a weekly run club here as well.

Crooked Crab Brewing
Odenton’s most well-known microbrewery offers 15 creative brews, ranging from 4.9% to 12.3% ABV. With hours from 2 to 10 PM on Monday through Thursday, noon to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 8 PM on Sunday, the wood-fired pizzas are made in an 850 degree brick oven. Whether you’re looking for a new drink, want to pair a night out with some pizza, or try somewhere new, the Crooked Crab is a quick jaunt from Annapolis. Trivia nights take place every Wednesday at 7 PM, with happy hours running Monday through Thursday from 2 to 5 PM. Thanking those who serve, Tuesday nights see a $1 discount on pints with a valid Military ID.
Forward Brewing
A proud sponsor of the Annapolis Blues, Forward Brewing has been a community staple since its opening. Open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 9 PM, Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM, the menu features eleven original and unique brews, coupled with two non-alcoholic beverages. Looking to grab a bite to eat as well? Choose from one of the five snacks/starters or chow down on a sandwich, taco, salad or a warm soup. Winter happy hours take place every weekday from 4 to 5:30 PM and 2 to 4 PM on Sundays! The Tuesday night bike club goes from 6 to 7 PM, featuring a 10-mile bike ride beginning and ending at Forward, while the Wednesday run club takes off at 6 PM for a five-mile run. Finally, trivia night takes place every Thursday at 7 PM.
Hysteria Taphouse
Made for the whole family, Hysteria prides itself on being both family-friendly and dog-friendly, creating a homey, community vibe. While they currently do not offer any food, you are both allowed and encouraged to bring your own, allowing you to pick the perfect pairings for your drinks. This Pasadena spot is open 4 to 9 PM on Monday, noon to 9 PM on Tuesday, noon to 10 PM on Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 11 PM on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 PM on Sunday.
Pherm Brewing
Located in Gambrills, Pherm Brewing is known for its inventive, small-batch beers and laid-back taproom atmosphere. With a rotating lineup that spans hop-forward IPAs, rich stouts, and experimental seasonal pours, there’s always something new to discover. They offer trivia night every Thursday at 7 PM and also offer special events like karaoke night, paint night, concerts, goat yoga, and more.
World of Beer

With an impressive selection of local, regional, and international drafts alongside bottles and cans from around the world, it’s an easy win for groups with varying tastes. The energetic space pairs well with a food-forward menu, making it a solid option for your FeBREWary crawl.

Black Flag Brewing Co.
If you’re looking for an event-centered spot that always has things to do, this is your place! All day on Monday is happy hour. Trivia night takes place on Tuesdays at 7 PM. Wednesday is game night with a variety of specials. Thursday is a run club, for anyone who likes to work for their beer. Each Friday features a new brew release, with the weekend rounded out by a meet and greet with the head brewer on Saturday before an Industry Day $4 pour special on Sunday. While the company itself does not have food, almost every day there will be a food truck present, featuring a continually rotating group of local eats.
Guinness Brewery Baltimore

Open Tuesday through Sunday, this internationally-based brewery combines over 260 years of classic, experienced, Irish brewing with a creative, American twist. With indoor and outdoor seating, patrons can select from the Taproom or Beer Garden, to enjoy a pint. For the soccer lovers, every Saturday sees doors open at 9:45 AM for games that kick off at 10 AM, offering a full English breakfast with a Guinness Draught or Zero for $25. Every Tuesday in January and February is ‘Games on Tap’, with all-day happy hour pricing, specialty themed food and drinks, and a group of your favorite board games to play. Finally, for the trivia lovers, every Wednesday at 7 PM is your time to shine! Don’t forget to take a tour while you’re there.
Union Craft Brewing
A staple of Baltimore’s craft beer scene, Union Craft Brewing blends creative brewing with a strong sense of community. Best known for fan favorites like Duckpin Pale Ale alongside an ever-rotating lineup of seasonal and experimental releases, Union Craft offers something for both seasoned beer lovers and casual sippers.
