When the Bell Rings: After School Activities in Annapolis

August 25, 2026 by Elizabeth Krischer

The new school year is about to begin. It’s time to decide how our kids spend their days following the 2:30 dismissal. Sure, they could come home, do their homework, and get ready for dinner. But if you want your kids to spend that time getting energy out, learning something new, and spending time with friends in a safe environment, this list is for you.

How We Made Our List

There are dozens of programs and classes after school in the Annapolis area. So where do you start? Check with your child’s school, of course! Private schools will reach out with their offerings and prices. With public schools, you may have to do a bit more digging. For our list, we are focusing on programs that take place every school day, between 2:30 and 4 PM, to fill that after-school gap. Also, the following programs are for children between the ages of five and 12 years old. Finally, we’re sticking with clubs where kids don’t have to audition or try out. Just sign up and show up!
