1. 2. Tropical Storm Debby caused significant damage to the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse dock, but a decoy coyote known as “Drew” was successfully rescued from the debris. A local contractor quickly built a temporary dock, and a grant will handle funds for a permanent replacement. The dock is necessary to access the historic light for maintenance and tours, which funds the maintenance.

5. A stabbing in an apartment adjacent to Coconut Joe’s and Pier 7 Marina in Edgewater has left one woman dead and a male critically injured. Police say there is no ongoing threat and the incident was domestic in nature.
