Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice!
It’s that time of year—the start of the cozy season. We’re pulling our cardigans from the back of the closet and planning our apple picking trips. For those of us who always wanted to live in Stars Hollow (and Annapolis is kind of like Stars Hollow on the Bay), our fall mood board always includes a cup of sweet and spicy flavors. The maple syrup is flowing, the cinnamon is sprinkling, and the tea kettle is heating up. Wrap yourself up in your favorite scarf and let’s head to the café!
Bean Rush Cafe (West Annapolis/Crownsville)
Whether you stop by their Crownsville location after a trip to the Renaissance Festival or grab something to go from their West Annapolis spot, they’ve got fall flavors ready for you. Their Pumpkin Patch Cold Brew is a mix of sweet and spicy, with dark chocolate, sweet cold foam, nutmeg, and cinnamon. They have plenty of pastries, hearty soups, and filling sandwiches. For a light bite, grab one of their biscotti.

The Big Bean (Annapolis/Severna Park/Millersville)
This local favorite in Olde Severna Park has been part of the community for decades. You can visit their locations in Millersville, Parole, or even Bethany Beach, but the OG has lots of charm. Grab a seasonal dirty chai (the “dirty” refers to a shot of espresso) topped with pumpkin cold foam along with one of their apple pie scones. Their pastries are made locally and their sandwiches are made in-house in Severna Park. Then go sit outside to see the changing leaves right along the B&A Trail.

Brown Mustache Coffee (Old Fox Books, Maryland Avenue)
Maryland Avenue is one of the most scenic blocks in Annapolis. It’s paved with historic brick and lined on either side with chic boutiques and trendy shops, including Old Fox Books. Head inside this bookstore to Brown Mustache Coffee. Their fall drinks include a Brown Sugar Pumpkin Latte, Pomegranate Matcha, and an Apple Chai-der. You can enjoy your drink while getting work done inside or sit on the outdoor patio. They also offer curbside pickup, but we recommend sticking around Maryland Avenue a bit longer.

Ceremony Coffee Roasters (Annapolis/Riva)
Your fur-baby will love the sights, sounds, and especially the smells at The Roastery. This is a dog-friendly location where you can see several pets joining their owners for a treat. In both the Roastery and Riva locations, they have some delightful, movie-inspired drinks, including the Marigold Coco (Pixar’s Coco), Skin of a Killer (Twilight—complete with edible glitter), and the Hocus Pocus. You can also fill up with some S’mores Overnight Oats or an Apple Pie Parfait.

Kozy Beans Coffee (Crofton)
The Kozy family knows how to make their café cozy! They offer different versions of some of their fall drinks. For example, you can get a Snickerdoodle Chai or a Snickerdoodle Matcha. You can also get a matcha or latte version of a Blueberry Pancake drink. Plus, they have a Pecan Pie Latte and an Apple Butter Cold Brew. Bring your kiddos to snuggle up on the sofa to read one of the children’s books they have in the back. Everyone who works here leads with faith and welcomes everyone in—they even have free Bibles and a Bible-journaling station.

Rise Up Coffee (Various Locations)

The Flannel Latte is a fall favorite for fans of this Maryland staple. Whether you’re grabbing a drink to go at their Market House location, using the drive-thru at Severna Park, or staying a while at the Parole café, there’s a perfect beverage companion. They have drink flavors that include Pumpkin Bread, Maple Cream, and the aforementioned Flannel, which is a pumpkin and maple combination. You can top any drink with Toasted Marshmallow Cold Foam for those campfire vibes. Or just grab a bag of their seasonal roast, Migration, to concoct your own brew right at home.

Wyrd Bookstore (Edgewater)
This bookstore is like Edgewater’s very own Shop Around the Corner. They sell new and used books, trinkets, gifts, toys, and tasty treats. If you’re there for some me-time, sip a Cinnamon Bun Cappuccino, a Rose Latte, or a Pumpkin Spice Latte. If you love to have tea time with your me time, they have tea-for-one, complete with beautiful teapots and cups. But if you want to bring your little ones (they’d love to play cafe with the toys in the back), you can have tea-for-two! Enjoy a chamomile blend or another kid-friendly flavor. Or get them a cup of Peter Rabbit’s Blackberries & Cream or a kid-temperature hot chocolate with “fairy dust” (AKA edible glitter). Before you leave, try to find the fairy—your child can get a card stamped. Once they get 10 stamps, they’ll get a prize!
