- “It’s goin’ down…I’m yellin’ timber!” at Timber Pizza Co, downtown Annapolis’ newest pizza joint, which opened yesterday. Nestled behind the counter is a giant green pizza oven, cooking up peace, love, and carbs. Equipped with a full bar (including several non-alcoholic options), Timber not only has red and white pizzas, but green pizzas too, for you pesto lovers. Favorite bites include their Slow Roasted Pork Empanadas (slow roasted pork, pickled shallots with spicy pineapple ‘Chups to dip), The Bentley pizza (tomato sauce, provolone and mozzarella blend, cured chorizo, soppressata, Peruvian sweet peppers, and spicy honey), and the Green Monster pizza (pesto, fresh mozzarella, feta cheese, zucchini, and kale). Don’t forget about dessert! They have partnered with Always Ice Cream to offer their Seasonal Ice Cream and Cone Platter (vanilla Always Ice Cream, housemade wood-fired cones and seasonal jam, fresh fruit [peaches!], chocolate, and granola). Be sure to visit the Timber Fam today!
- P.S. They have high chairs, so bring the kiddos.
- Cue: NFL on Fox theme song. This week kicks off the start of the NFL Season! If you’re looking for a place to watch the game with your crew, head to Heroes Pub for NFL Specials. These include $17 buckets of Bud, Bud Light, and other select domestics; $18 buckets of Michelob Ultra; $25 buckets of NÜTRL and Surfside cans; $1 off select craft drafts; and $4.25 drafts of Bud, Bud Light, and other select domestics. Their Old Bay wings are a must-order! One of my favorites in town!
- Three years ago, an EF-2 tornado hit Annapolis on September 1, 2021, affecting many located along West Street. It destroyed the beloved family-owned, Chris’s Charcoal Pit, who opened their doors more than 40 years ago to the Annapolis community. They reopened in November 2023 at the South River Colony shopping center on Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, continuing to serve authentic Greek food to their customers. Highlights include their iconic Gyro Pita (savory beef and lamb, slow cooked on the spit and shaved in a warm pita, with cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, parsley, and topped with their homemade tzatziki sauce), Greek-Italian Salad Platter (crispy lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, onions, Prociutini ham, Genoa Salami, provolone cheese, feta cheese, green peppers, anchovies, pepperoncini, and bread), and Moussaka (eggplant, ground beef, potatoes, and fluffy cream, topped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella and provolone cheese; served with greek salad and bread).
