- Last week we featured authentic Irish dining and green drinks for St. Patrick’s Day. But what about the kiddos? Here are three stops to make to satisfy your little one’s tummies (or your sweet tooth):
- Park Tavern in Severna Park for their green Lucky Charms pancakes (they’ve also transformed the restaurant into Kelly’s Irish Pub, with live music, Irish food, and drink specials like Leprechaun crushes).
- Always Ice Cream in downtown Annapolis, West Annapolis, or Edgewater for their Leprechaun Tracks (green vanilla ice cream with brownie bites, shamrock sprinkles, whip frosting, and rainbow sprinkles) or Lucky Charms (ice cream made with Lucky Charms cereal).
- Blue Crab Cupcakes in Annapolis for their assorted St. Patrick’s Day-themed desserts, including cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, Lucky Charm bars, and rainbow cake.
- Look no further – the most flava-ful Jamaican food around, Jammin Flava, opened their brick-and-mortar location in Odenton last week! Both the owner and chef were born and raised in Jamaica and have been cooking authentic Jamaican cuisine for over four decades. Highlights from their menu include jerk BBQ wings, curry goat, oxtail, coco bread, rice and peas, and sweet plantains. Your taste buds will be rockin’, guaranteed. So, turn up your jams and head over there to give them some food love!
- Tequila Sunrise has a new name—it’s Naty’s Tex Mex cuisine! Inside the large A-framed house on West Street, Naty’s has a full bar and serves delicious piña coladas and margaritas (did I mention they are strong?) and free chips and fresh salsa. Be sure to order their platanos fritos (pan-fried plantains served with sour cream and refried beans) as an appetizer; and combo platter, which comes with a pork pupusa (stuffed-and-griddled corn tortillas), beef enchilada, and chicken tamale.
- Hear ye, hear ye! The Treaty of Paris Restaurant will reopen for the first time since closing in 2019 for Easter brunch on March 31. The restaurant’s name honors the Paris Peace Treaty, which ended the American Revolutionary War. The Treaty of Paris was ratified by Congress on January 14, 1784, in Maryland’s State House and established America as a new nation among nations, one short block from the restaurant. The restaurant is located at 16 Church Circle in Annapolis, inside the Maryland Inn at the top of Main Street. The brunch experience will include items from the garden, sea, and land, as well as a Viennese display, cash bar, and children’s activities. Price: Adults are $65, kids ages 5-12 $30, and kids under 4 are free. RSVP here or call (410) 216-6318.
- Spring is around the corner (literally in 6 days)! What better way to celebrate than to check out the Spring Arts and Craft Show at The Byzantium at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Church off Riva Road? If 50+ arts and craft vendors don’t persuade you, what about the authentic Greek food and pastries they will be serving? My favorite things to order include the lamb gyro (lamb stuffed in pita bread, with tomato, onion, and tzatziki), Greek fries, pastitsio (baked pasta with ground beef and béchamel sauce), rice pudding, and baklava. This free event is one day only, on March 22 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
