Your weekly dose of some cool food and dining finds around town!
Summertime at The Point, Naval Bagels’ Grand Opening, and First Sunday Arts Festival Eats
- Run, don’t walk! Summertime at The Point Crab House and Grill, where they serve good vibes and seasonal food, is one of the best places to dine in town. Their Summer Crostini is a dish I look forward to every year. It features three toasted baguettes with whipped feta, local tomatoes, charred local corn, avocado, red onion, fresh herbs, and olive oil. Other highlights on the menu include Nanny’s Deviled Eggs with jumbo lump crab, thick-cut Fried Pickles, Tessler’s Summer Salad (Eastern Shore watermelon, blueberries, baby arugula, feta, pistachios, fresh mint, honey, and lemon vinaigrette), Chicken Salad Melt (roasted chicken breast, granny smith apples, brie, country bread, berry sauce, and fresh chives), and a Nutty Buddy Slider, which tastes like a Nutter Butter with ice cream in the middle. Plus, order one of their six crushes to sip on while you enjoy your meal. The Point is located on Mill Creek with plenty of dock space for your boat, shaded outdoor seating with fans, and indoor seating with a view and breeze.
- Tomorrow enjoy Naval Bagels at their newest location in Edgewater! Located off Solomon’s Island Road, you’ll be able to grab your favorite bagels, like the Naval Bagel (an everything bagel, fresh NOVA lox, cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers), the SoCal (an everything bagel, chunky avocado spread, crumbled hard boiled egg, and red chili flakes), and the Country Boy (a jalapeño bagel, scrambled egg, and a jumbo sausage patty with cheese).
- P.S. – They also have rainbow bagels!
- This Sunday, August 4, marks the halfway point of the season for the First Sunday Arts Festival in downtown Annapolis. Every year, the Inner West Street Association organizes Maryland’s premier art festival on the first Sunday of the month from May through November. Shop over 150 vendors, listen to live music, and eat local food along West Street, Calvert Street, People’s Park, and City Gate Corner. Several food trucks will be offering food on the go. Check out:
- Underground Pizza Company for Detroit style pizza and mozzarella sticks, as well as creative flavors and quality ingredients.
- Tasty Toucan for handmade ice cream and paletas (aka ice pops), made with all-natural ingredients from the Eastern Shore.
- Miss Jan’s Kitchen for your cheat day paradise filled with guilty pleasures and indulgent treats like BBQ ribs, fried fish, crispy chicken, and mouth-watering mac and cheese.
