- The sweltering heat and humidity outside calls for an ice-cold, refreshing drink! Head to InGrano Bistro Bakery and enjoy a matcha from their Iced Matcha Latte Bar. Choose between strawberry, ube lavender, or yuzu foam to top your matcha latte.
- What is matcha? Matcha is a finely-ground green tea leaf that is specially grown in the shade, that imbues a bright chartreuse color and has an umami flavor. The shade-growing process increases caffeine production and greater amounts of theanine, which has been shown to help relieve stress, improve sleep, and boost mental clarity.
- Craving Latin food? Look no further than JesseJay’s Latin Inspired Kitchen in Churchton, where they serve food and drinks bursting with flavor, combining their Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage. Thursdays feature their unbeatable lunch special: half-off taco salads from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm! For $6.50, enjoy a delicious bed of romaine lettuce, black beans, diced tomatoes, onions, Mexi-Corn, sliced avocado, salted pepitas, and cheddar, jack, and queso fresco cheeses, all served in a fried flour tortilla bowl with a side of homemade dressing. Pro tip: add carnitas!
- Pro tip: I recommend the mofongo (smashed plantains with roasted garlic butter sauce or creole tomato sauce) with fried pork chunks and a side of tostones (green plantains, fried, smashed, and fried again)!
- Calling all crab lovers! Don’t miss out on AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) crabs while benefiting local nonprofit organizations. The 79th Annual Rotary Club of Annapolis Crab Feast is on Friday, August 2, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Proceeds benefit our local community through grants awarded to nonprofit organizations. Chesapeake Seafood Caterers will be providing the crabs. Plus, enjoy beer and beverages from the Rotary Club and BBQ from Bayside Bull before ending your feast with a bake-sale dessert! Ticket sales end on Monday, July 29, so snag yours today!
- Fun fact: The crab feast is zero-waste! The Rotary Club of Annapolis partners with Veteran Compost to achieve a 100% reduction in “trash” that goes to the dump. Everything gets recycled or composted! #bayresponsible
