Annapolis Events: Find and Post

July 18, 2024 by Piper Langenfeld

Looking for a place to promote Annapolis events you’re hosting? Want to spread the word about a neighborhood event happening near you? Click here to add it to the Annapolis Moms website! This is also a great way to find or share fun activities and classes with your community!

When you add an event, make sure to:

  1. Give it a title! Keep it short and sweet and cut to the chase. Keep the main ideas and save the rest of the information for the Event Description.
  2. The Event Description is for all of the details. Describe what the event is, who’s hosting it, and even the best place to park. If there is a cost to attend this event, feel free to add details about the perks you get for spending more, or what the best deals are!
  3. Don’t forget to add your event’s time and date, and if it happens more than once, click ‘Schedule Multiple Events” and include how many more times it happens, what days it happens on, and what time those events take place.
  4. Then, add an image! This can be a flyer for the event or a picture from a previous event if it has happened before.
  5. Event Categories and Event Tags: Event Categories will show you a drop down menu of options to choose from and Event Tags work just like hashtags on Instagram. If you’d rather leave it blank, however, feel free, and we will be happy to do that for you!
  6. Venue Details is the location, which has the option to show a map. If the event is somewhere popular, the location should populate and allow you to click on it. If the venue isn’t well known, please still type it in. Feel free to add details like phone number, website, and address. The same goes for Organizer Details.
  7. The Event Website should just be the link to whatever site has the most information about the event, whether that be a website or a Facebook post.
  8. For the ‘Who Should Go?’ checkboxes, use your best judgement. If the event is open and friendly to all ages, click all of the boxes.
  9. Event Cost is where you can add the price of the event. If the event is free, type in “0”, and if the event has a range of prices, type it in as #-#.
  10. Finally, don’t forget to agree to our terms of service and submit your event!

Where can I find my event?

Once you’ve submitted your Annapolis events, we’ll double check it and post it to our website, which you can find here! Don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter and check out our quarterly magazine, The Motherlode. These are great ways to hear about other events happening in our community. And, of course, our FaceBook group is perfect for making new friends, asking for advice, and helping out people just like you! We hope to see you there!

Being a positive rol

Being a positive role model can make a big difference for your kids. Forming healthy habits, including how much screen time, children tend to follow what they see at home.

We know it’s not always easy - phones are part of everyday life - but constant scrolling can send mixed messages about limits. Research continues to link excessive screen time with mental health challenges, especially in children and teens.

One simple step? Put your device down and join them. Even a few minutes of screen-free play can go a long way in showing what balance looks like.

If you’re looking for a pediatrician to support your child’s well-being, the team our community supporter SP Docs is here for you. Call them at 410-647-8300 to learn more.
