- Located right outside Anne Arundel County in Bowie is Rip’s, a longtime family-owned eatery serving a wide range of classic comfort dishes in a rustic dining room since 1952. They offer comfort with a kick—those homemade favorites have just a little something more. What better way to start the day than with a country breakfast – choose either a New Englander (fried cod, two eggs, country fries or grits, and toast or muffin), Hunt (juice, two eggs, choice of meat, country fries, and pancakes), or a Montoya Scrambled Biscuits (scrambled eggs, steak, and hollandaise sauce).
- P.S. They have a Wine and Spirits Shoppe!
- Taylor Swift anyone? Just kidding! Last week, NFL preseason kicked off with a great start. If you’re looking for a place to watch the games and enjoy gameday food and drink specials, look no further than Skipper’s Pier in South County. Highlights include their BYOB (Build Your Own Burger) served with housemade chips, “Commander” Strips (buffa-ranch tossed chicken tenders, Chesapeake fries, and celery), and “Eagles” Egg Rolls (Philly cheesesteak style egg rolls with a cheese dipping sauce). Don’t worry you Ravens fans, there’s a dedicated Ravens’ drink as well.
- You might just spot a fox sign on Main Street in Downtown Annapolis signaling the entryway into Fox’s Den, a family-owned American Craft Gastropub offering a wide selection of American beer and spirits, along with delicious food anchored by their wood-fired brick oven pizzas. Start the week with Pizza Mondays—save $5 off the price of a brick oven pizza with purchase of a beverage (excluding “El Pres”)! Favorites include the Pepperoni & Pepperoncini (pepperoncini, pepperoni, marinara, mozzarella, parmesan, and mint), Fig and Pig (fig preserves, shaved country ham, brie, hot honey, and torn mint), and Kyle Jeffrey (ricotta, basil pesto, spiced olive oil, garlic, provolone, parmesan, soppresata, spicy capicola, post-oven tomatoes, and arugula).
