4. Annapolis Reaches Tentative $15M Public Housing Lawsuit Settlement
The City of Annapolis has reached a tentative $15 million settlement in two federal lawsuits tied to long-running complaints about conditions in public housing properties operated by the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis. The agreement would resolve claims brought by more than 1,400 residents and representatives of a former resident who died, but it still requires federal court approval.
5. Annapolis Juneteenth Festival Back On For June 20
The Annapolis Juneteenth Festival will move forward June 20 at Bates Athletic Complex following earlier uncertainty over the event. The celebration will include a June 19 concert at Carr’s/Elktonia Heritage Park, the downtown Juneteenth Parade at noon June 20, and a free, alcohol-free festival with live music, entertainment, food, and vendors.
