When the Call Came: Civilians and the Maryland Flying Camp

Marylanders organized a rapid-response militia to defend liberty during the early days of the American Revolution. Known as the Maryland Flying Camp, this force was more than a military unit; it was a civilian experience that transformed daily life in 1776.
Stop by Pinkney Street to meet living historians and experience how Marylanders lived, worked, and served during a pivotal moment in the fight for independence. The war was fought not only on battlefields, but in homes, shops, taverns, and fields!
Visitors of all ages can take part in period games and a hands-on activity from the Revolutionary era.
Register here! This event will take place at the Hogshead Trades Museum and the Waterfront Warehouse.
