Visit Monticello with Historic Annapolis

We will travel by motorcoach to Charlottesville, VA, and also enjoy a guided Highlights Tour of the first-floor spaces in Thomas Jefferson’s home, the West Lawn, and South Wing. Additionally, this experience also includes a boxed lunch, as well as access to the gardens, grounds, walking tours, and exhibits at Monticello.
Itinerary:
- 8:00 am: Motorcoach departs from Maryland Hall (801 Chase Street in Annapolis. Look for HA’s check-in table!)
- 11:00 am: Arrive at Monticello (Check in)
- 11:30 am: Pick up boxed lunches in the Cafe
- 12:15 pm – 1:45 pm: Explore at your own pace
- View the exhibits at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center
- Walk through exhibits under and around the house
- Experience an outdoor program: Slavery at Monticello Tour or Gardens and Grounds Tour
- Walk to the Contemplative Site and Jefferson’s Gravesite
- Visit the Burial Ground for Enslaved People near the Visitor Center
- Stop by The Shop at the Visitor Venter for souvenirs and snacks.
- 2:10 pm – 2:45 pm: Monticello Highlights Tour (please be in line by 1:50 pm)
- 3:30 pm: Depart for Annapolis
Advance registration required by March 27, 2025; space is limited. We recommend this event for ages 16+. If the minimum number of tickets sold is not met by March 27, 2025, the trip will be cancelled, and a full refund will be issued. Register here.
