Heritage Cruise on the Chesapeake
Explore Annapolis’ fascinating maritime history and the Chesapeake Bay ecology with the Heritage Cruise on the Chesapeake! This guided two-hour cruise takes place aboard the historic Skipjack Wilma Lee. Learn about the city’s fabled boat building industry, the dramatic history and future of the Chesapeake Bay Waterman, and oyster harvesting. Then learn facts about local points of interest like Carr’s and Elktonia Beach, Eastport, and the Naval Academy. Tour guides will also identify and share fun facts about native Chesapeake Bay wildlife along the route. In addition, the Heritage Cruise is perfect for anyone interested in the Bay and those who work in and around it. Complimentary water is also available onboard.
- Tickets are required for children, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The U.S. Coast Guard considers all children, regardless of age and size, to be passengers, and as such, you need to purchase a ticket for each child.
- Please allow extra time for parking. We are unable to hold the boat past our scheduled departure time. Parking at AMM Park campus includes a 10-minute walk from parking, and down to the dock.
- Flat shoes are recommended and heels will not be permitted.
- Please bring sunscreen, water bottle, hat, and wear comfortable clothing. There is very little shade on the boat. No outside food or drink permitted.
- Not wheelchair accessible.

Buy your tickets here! Children 12 and under are $20 and adults are $50. A children’s ticket + a museum visit is $21 and an adult’s ticket + a museum visit is $52.
The cruise will depart from the Annapolis Maritime Museum Dock.
