Discover how women and girls kept their families clothed, warm, and respectable. Learn about “plain sewing,” the making and mending of essential garments, bedding, and linens. Experience a period-accurate laundry demonstration. See how clothes and linens were boiled, scrubbed, blued, and dried using tools and techniques of the past.
