There is a universal parenting moment that happens around 5:47 p.m. when everyone in the house suddenly becomes a food critic.
One kid wants tacos.
Another wants chicken tenders.
Someone else declares they are “only eating poke bowls now.”
And you’re standing there wondering if cereal counts as dinner again.
Enter Wonder, the new food hall concept that opened on Riva Road in Annapolis. Wonder’s whole idea had to have been designed by someone who has survived family dinner negotiations before: instead of choosing one restaurant, you can order from more than 20 different restaurants at the same time, all prepared in one kitchen and served together. Whatever your group is craving can all show up in one bag like a culinary United Nations.
If you’re picturing something like R. House (which I absolutely cannot recommend more and was one of my favorite hangouts when living in Baltimore), with individual stalls, chefs cooking in front of you, and lots of seating, this is a little different.
Wonder is essentially one central kitchen producing food from a long list of restaurant brands, most of which were created with celebrity chefs or restaurant groups. You order through the app or a kiosk, pick your items from whichever restaurants you want, and everything comes out together.
The space itself is fairly small. There are only a handful of seats, so it’s not really the place for a long sit-down dinner with friends (luckily, we scored one of their tables). You might find it more convenient as a quick stop for pickup after all the school activities are done or a strategic delivery option when dinner planning has officially collapsed.
We happened to visit during Wonder’s opening week, which included a pretty wild promotion: 50% off your first two orders if you used the app. At half price, the temptation to order across a dozen different restaurants becomes extremely powerful.
What We Ordered

Since Wonder encourages mix-and-match ordering, we leaned in sampled from several restaurants.

From Royal Greens, we tried the Royal Caesar Salad with pita bread, which was fresh and exactly what you hope for when ordering something with the word “greens” in the title.
From Streetbird, we ordered both French fries and a fried chicken sandwich, which arrived hot and crispy.
From Kin House, we added pork egg rolls and pork and shrimp dumplings, which felt like the perfect shareable add for a group of people who are always ready for some Chinese food.
And rounding things out was a salmon poke bowl from Hanu Poke, which balanced the meal with something lighter and colorful.
One of the fun parts of the Wonder experience is that everything arrives together, even though it technically came from four different restaurants. What we love even more is the convenience of choice. For busy families, mixed friend groups, or anyone who has ever heard the phrase “I’m not in the mood for that,” Wonder’s model makes a lot of sense.
A Few Tips Before You Go
A couple things to know before visiting:
• Seating is limited, so plan for takeout or delivery.
• Ordering through the app is easiest, especially if promotions are running.
• Don’t be afraid to mix cuisines—that’s the whole point.
Wonder isn’t trying to be a traditional restaurant experience. It’s more like a highly efficient dinner solution for modern food indecision. And on a night when everyone in the house wants something different, that might be the most wonderful idea of all.
