Historic London Town and Gardens (HLTG) is a twenty-three-acre park featuring history and horticulture on the South River in Edgewater, Maryland. The London Town Foundation’s mission is to inspire “present and future generations to a deeper understanding of the past, the environment, and our shared humanity.”

Homeschool Program: Fall Wonders
Wednesday, November 13 at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm
Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to the HLTG for an educational dive into autumn. They’ll learn how plants and animals prepare for the winter as they explore why leaves change colors and why bears hibernate. $8 HLTG members/$10.50 non-members
Colonial Cocktails: Cold Weather Comforts

Calling the cozy cocktail lovers and the history buffs! Ease into the coming of winter at the HLTG events pavilion with hot buttered rum and toddy. You’ll make and enjoy these historical drinks while learning about their history, how they came about, and how trade impacted the ingredients used. During this class of about 28 people, your costumed host will take you on a boozy trip to the past. Pre-registration is required. $25 HLTG members/$33 non-members
The Journey of My Ancestors

History lovers, gather around! Reverend Lawrence Walker invites you to James Madison’s Montpelier to trace the inspiring journey of his ancestors toward equality. As a Board member at Montpelier and President of the Montpelier Descendants Committee, he’ll bring a fresh perspective on why descendant voices are essential to telling the narrative of colonial and early American history. Learn how to game with the best of the colonial card sharks during this weekend at the historic William Brown House. Costumed interpreters will help you learn historic favorites such as Whist, Loo, Shut the Box, Mancala, and more! Included with admission, no pre-registration required.
