The Pirates of Penzance – Family Friendly Performance @ AACC

May 15, 2023 by Jessica Opert
The Pirates of Penzance

AACC Concert Choir and Chamber Singers in association with AACC Opera present Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance.

Directed by Douglas Brandt Byerly and conducted by Anna Binneweg, D.M. This family oriented performance features:The Pirate King (Christopher Rhodovi), Mabel (Catherine J. Campbell), Sergeant of Police (John C. Jones), Frederic (Will Kuethe), Ruth (Vanessa Fernandez) and Maj. General Stanley (Douglas Brandt Byerly).

This family-oriented comic opera is the story of Frederic, who, having completed his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets the daughters of Major-General Stanley, including Mabel, and the two young people fall instantly in love. Frederic soon learns, however, that he was born on the 29th of February, and so, technically, he has a birthday only once each leap year. He remain apprenticed to the pirates until his “twenty-first birthday”, meaning that he must serve for another 63 years. Bound by his own sense of duty, Frederic’s only solace is that Mabel agrees to wait for him faithfully.

📱 Think before yo

📱 Think before you post.

During a divorce, social media can become more than just a place to share updates, it can become evidence. Photos, posts, comments, and even tagged content may impact financial matters, custody decisions, and other important aspects of your case, especially if they conflict with information presented in court.

If you’re navigating a divorce, the goal isn’t to disappear from social media, it’s to use it wisely. ⚖️
