On August 19, everyone’s favorite root vegetable will be front and center for National Potato Day. According to Kew Royal Botanic Gardens, potatoes are the “fourth most grown food crop in the world[.]” There are thousands of different kinds, so it makes sense that there are so many ways to enjoy them. They’ll be boiled, mashed, stewed, baked, and (of course) fried. Here in Annapolis, you can find unique takes on this humble food. They are a classic “girl dinner” side dish or the star of the meal slathered with cheese and sour cream.
