November 26, 2024 by Stacey Coles

Downtown Annapolis will host the 15th annual Small Business Saturday on November 30, featuring a vibrant shopping experience with over 200 local establishments, including 95 unique retailers and 75 dining options.

As the holiday season approaches, Small Business Saturday in Annapolis presents the perfect opportunity for families to explore, connect, and shop local. Held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this day celebrates the unique businesses that make our community vibrant while offering memorable experiences for parents and kids alike.

What Makes Small Business Saturday Special?

Downtown Annapolis transforms into a shopper’s paradise with a festive atmosphere. Local stores roll out exclusive discounts, unique products, and special events. Whether you’re searching for handmade gifts, local art, or holiday decor, the variety is unmatched. Many shops also host family-friendly activities, adding an extra layer of fun to your outing.

Where to Shop

Stroll along Main Street, Maryland Avenue, and West Street to uncover gems like Lilac Bijoux, offering cozy loungewear and trendy accessories, or Woodcraft Artisans, known for its handcrafted gifts like Estonian wooden Santas. For the foodie in the family, The Spice & Tea Exchange and Seasons Olive Oil & Vinegar Taproom provide perfect holiday ingredients and unique gift sets. Shopping for that special someone? Try a breathtaking necklace, watch, or ring from Zachary’s Jewelers.

Why It’s Perfect for Families

Small Business Saturday isn’t just about shopping—it’s about community. Kids can learn the value of supporting local entrepreneurs while enjoying the festive downtown decorations and often, sweet treats from participating shops. Some businesses even offer interactive events, such as craft demonstrations or tastings, creating memorable moments for all ages.

Supporting Local Makes a Difference

By participating in Small Business Saturday, families contribute to the local economy, helping keep Annapolis’ charm alive. This day is also a great way to teach kids about the importance of sustainability and community connections.
