River Days!

June 11, 2024 by Ashley Fuchs

Saturday, July 20th 11 AM – 4 PM

River Days are back! This is a series of festivals held at different waterfront locations in the county that provides free water access to residents through “fun, recreational and educational activities on county rivers.” Last year’s festival was so popular that this year’s festival has expanded to five events in order to give people even more opportunity to participate.

River Days are hosted by the Anne Arundel County Executive’s Office in partnership with Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating, a non-profit providing sailing to people with disabilities, underserved youth and recovering soldiers, and Annapolis Sailing School, the first sailing school for adults in the nation founded in 1959.

Each festival features fun activities for all ages: water activities, boat rides, live music, face painting, food trucks, crafts, games, and more.

Be aware, even though the events are free, registration is required for entry, because capacity is limited. You must also register for boat ride tickets and kayak lessons (also free) so they can be reserved for a specific time slot.

Registration for festival entry, and reservations for boat rides and kayak lessons will all open about one month prior to each event date. Sign up here to be notified once registration is open for each event.

The remaining festivals are:

  • Saturday, July 20th 11 AM – 4 PM (registration Thursday July 1st at 12:00)
7300 Edgewood Rd, Annapolis, MD 21403
  • Sunday, August 11th 11 AM – 4 PM (registration Thursday July 11th at 12:00)
5100 Chalk Point Rd, West River, MD 20778
  • Sunday, August 25th 11 AM – 4 PM (registration Thursday July 25th at 12:00)
600 Quiet Waters Park Rd, Annapolis, MD 21403
  • Saturday, September 14th 11 AM – 4 PM (registration Wednesday August 14th at 12:00)
9500 Fort Smallwood Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122

For questions and requests for special accommodations, please email riverdays@aacounty.org.

This week’s Local Food Finds is a bittersweet one.

Bitty & Beau’s has been part of downtown
Annapolis for years, and now the shop is getting ready to close its doors on September 13.

From coffee runs and sweet treats to the familiar faces behind the counter, it’s a place that will
be missed around City Dock.

If you’ve been meaning to stop by, there’s still time for one more cup.

Read the full Local Food Finds article at the link below and in our bio and share with someone who loves BITTY & BEAU’S!
