River Days are back! This is a series of festivals held at different waterfront locations in the county that provides free water access to residents through “fun, recreational and educational activities on county rivers.” Last year’s festival was so popular that this year’s festival has expanded to five events in order to give people even more opportunity to participate.
River Days are hosted by the Anne Arundel County Executive’s Office in partnership with Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating, a non-profit providing sailing to people with disabilities, underserved youth and recovering soldiers, and Annapolis Sailing School, the first sailing school for adults in the nation founded in 1959.
Each festival features fun activities for all ages: water activities, boat rides, live music, face painting, food trucks, crafts, games, and more.
Be aware, even though the events are free, registration is required for entry, because capacity is limited. You must also register for boat ride tickets and kayak lessons (also free) so they can be reserved for a specific time slot.
Registration for festival entry, and reservations for boat rides and kayak lessons will all open about one month prior to each event date. Sign up here to be notified once registration is open for each event.
