Read, Play, Win – Summer @ Your Library Returns!

July 15, 2025 by Anne Arundel County Public Library
**Sponsored Content**

Stop by any of the 16 branches of the Anne Arundel County Public Library for a fun-filled summer! From now until August 31, kids can join the annual Summer @ Your Library Quest for a chance to win fantastic prizes like LEGO® kits, art sets, or musical instruments. Teens and adults can participate too—adults can play Wild Card Bingo for a chance to win four airline passes courtesy of Southwest Airlines, while teens can enter the Choose Your Own Adventure challenge for a shot at winning a Nintendo Switch Mario Kart bundle!

The 2025 theme, “Color Our World,” encourages everyone to embrace the beauty of art and expression, weaving a vibrant tapestry of experiences that brings joy, connection, and creativity to life. This is your chance to express yourself in ways that matter—through words, images, movement, music, and performance.

How to Participate

Kids and teens can track their progress in two ways:

  1. Download the Beanstack app to log reading digitally
  2. Pick up a printed gameboard at any AACPL location

Once you’re signed up, decide how long you’ll read each day—even five minutes counts! Color in a space for each day you meet your reading goal or complete a fun, creative activity. Suggested activities include:

● Attend a library program

● Make something from recyclables

● Draw, paint, or write a story

● Explore a booklist celebrating differences

When you reach day 15, receive your first raffle ticket and visit your library to claim a halfway prize like a book, silly putty, or sidewalk chalk. Teens can choose from prizes such as a free book from Park Books, a doodle therapy notebook, or an enamel pin.

Reach 30 days, and you’ll earn your completion prize and a second entry for one of our exciting grand prizes! Winners will be drawn on September 8 and notified directly.

For Adults

Sign up using the Beanstack app or pick up a printed bingo card. Complete a row, column, or diagonal to earn one raffle entry, or complete the entire card for a second entry. Show your completed bingo card at Park Books to receive a discount on one book. The grand prize winner will receive four Southwest Airlines passes!

Events All Summer Long

To keep participants engaged, libraries across AACPL will host fun, entertaining, and educational events and activities all summer long, including:

● Magic shows

● STEM adventures

● Puppet shows

● Stories through opera

● Live animal experiences

● Music, dance, and more!

Check out our entire collection of more than 100 library events, sure to make your summer extra fun.

Summer @ Your Library is made possible by support from the community donors. For a complete list of program events, dates, and locations for Summer @ Your Library, visit aacpl.net/summer.

Publishing for the 2

Publishing for the 250th anniversary of the United States, Dr. Emily Sneff’s latest book, When the Declaration of Independence Was News, focuses on the nation’s founding document at the moment of its creation in 1776, before anyone knew what the legacy of the Declaration would be or if the United States would win the war against Great Britain. It explores how the Declaration was communicated to people in the new nation and around the Atlantic world and reveals the stories of the many people involved in the process of declaring independence, from printers to soldiers to diplomats to translators.
Dr. Emily Sneff is an early American historian and leading expert on the Declaration of Independence. She earned her Ph.D. in History from William & Mary. She is a consulting curator for exhibitions marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration at the Museum of the American Revolution and Historic Trappe.
