Cypress is one of Severna Park’s newest dining destinations, offering a menu of elevated yet approachable dishes. Inspired by the iconic cypress trees of Severna Park, the restaurant serves a diverse selection of flavors—from fresh seafood to comforting classics, making sure there’s something for everyone. Housed in the former Sullivan’s Cove location, Cypress boasts a sleek, modern interior with stylish furnishings. The restaurant also features a Monday through Friday happy hour, showcasing $10 appetizers like Oysters Rockefeller, salmon bites, crabby fries, short rib fries, and caprese avocado salad, alongside $6 Anchor wines, $2 off draft beers, and refreshing drink specials. Cypress is date-night friendly and family-friendly, offering highchairs, a kids’ menu, and crayons to keep the little ones entertained.
Cypress invited Annapolis Moms Media to a tasting event, where we tried some of their appetizers and desserts. Here are some of our favorite picks:
The P.E.I. mussels stand out, served in a spicy tomato broth with roasted fennel and chorizo, alongside a crispy baguette. The crab dip is cheesy, packed with Old Bay flavor, and served with warm naan chips. And don’t miss the warm crispy Brussels, tossed with pecan wood-smoked bacon, goat cheese, and a honey Dijon vinaigrette.
For a fresh bite, the ahi tuna tartare shines with avocado mousse, citrus, and crispy wontons. But whatever you do, save room for dessert—Chef Tamar’s Bread Pudding is like a big hug on a plate, warm, comforting, and downright delicious.
