Local Food Finds

November 26, 2024 by Sarah Amyot

Your weekly dose of some cool food and dining finds around town

Coffee Roastery, $25 Little Big Meals, and Thanksgiving Day Options

Have a suggestion? We’d love to hear from you – submit it HERE!

  • Life is too short for bad coffee.BD Provisions takes its coffee roasting seriously, with 12 different varieties of roasts and 15 flavors. Whether you are looking for organic, light, medium, dark, or the best decaf coffee, they have something to suit every coffee lover’s desire. BD Provisions sources organic coffee beans and conventional beans from farms all over the world and brings them to their store in Severna Park to be roasted in their top-of-the-line Diedrich coffee roaster. You can stop by on most Saturday mornings to see the coffee-roasting magic! Try their best-selling coffee, Midnight Joe, which is made from a blend of three coffee beans to deliver fresh, bold, deep flavors. While you’re there, shop the hundreds of bulk food options including baking ingredients (including gluten-free ones), candy, cereal, chocolate, coffee, snack mixes, honey, syrup, nut butter, nuts and seeds, oils and vinegars, pasta, beans, rice, grains, dip mixes, dried fruit, drink mixes, granola, spices, teas, beauty products, pet supplies, and more!
    • P.S. BD Provisions supports zero-waste and low-waste shopping. They have a jar exchange program and complimentary eco-friendly packaging options. You can also BYO (bring your own) container that can be weighed before you fill it.
    • P.S.S. Their soup mixes in a bag are perfect for a holiday gift!
  • Meal planning, but out of ideas? The Fresh Market has “Little Big Meals” for $25, making it easy to cook comforting, delicious dinners for four with minimal effort. This week until December 3, enjoy Chicken Pot Pie with your choice of creamy mac and cheese, smoky mozzarella pasta salad, or Tasteful Selections potatoes your way; and your choice of organic take-and-bake Italian bread or a 12-pack of mini vanilla cupcakes. From December 4 to December 10, it’s Schnitzel! Enjoy either lemon butter breaded chicken or pork cutlets; your choice of broccoli with sea salt butter or green beans with salt and pepper; Bechtle egg noodles; Aux Delices des Bois butter; and your choice of an old-fashioned lemon pound cake or demi-baguette. What a great meal deal!
  • Tomorrow is Thanksgiving (my personal favorite holiday)! If you’re in a bind to find a place to eat out, give the restaurants below a call to see if they have any reservations open. The restaurants on this list are open on Thanksgiving Day for dine-in, with Thanksgiving Day food/specials:
    • Carrol’s Creek – three-course prix fixe menu (price varies by entrée selection); kids’ menu
    • Latitude 38 – two buffet selections (traditional Thanksgiving and seafood); $55 for 13 and up, $20 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for kids ages 4 and under
    • Rams Head Tavern – three-course Thanksgiving meal; $30 for adults and $15 for kids ages 10 and under
    • Severn Inn – Thanksgiving buffet; $85 for adults and $42 for kids ages 5 to 12
    • Tidewater Inn (in Easton) – Thanksgiving buffet; $64 for adults, $26 for kids ages 5 to 12, and free for kids ages 4 and under
