- Great cheesesteaks aren’t just in Philly! Head to Severna Park’s very own Jenos Steaks, a family-owned and operated business since 1991. You can custom order your own or request a “fantasy sub,” which are tried-and-true customer favorites, like the Schupbacha (steak, fried onions, Old Bay seasoning, layers of fries, and cheddar sauce) and Muddy Paw (steak, Italian sausage, sweet peppers, onions, red hot peppers, and provolone cheese). Jeno’s Steaks has Filipino roots and also serves delicious homemade lumpia (Filipino-style egg rolls made with beef and pork, served with sweet ‘n’ sour sauce). Their fries are made from fresh Idaho potatoes, cooked in 100% peanut oil, and you can get them loaded with toppings like steak, cheddar sauce, and Old Bay.
- Jeno’s Steaks also has a food truck that serves different locations around Anne Arundel County. Check out their Facebook page for their next food truck stop.
- Looking for carry out options to feed the family (or yourself for the week)? Bella Italia Annapolis has family-style Italian dinners that include your choice of pasta, house salad, and toasted bread. Pastas include spaghetti, pasta al Forno, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, salsiccia Florentina, and more! Pricing is for two, four, or six people.
- Sunday Funday is not complete without an AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) brunch and bottomless drinks! Ports of Call, located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Annapolis now offers a $25 AYCE brunch, featuring an omelet station, peel-your-own shrimp, waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, pancakes, salad bar, fruit, yogurt parfaits, dessert, and more. Don’t miss the $5 bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys.
- Korean corn dogs or hotdogs are a popular street food in Korea and are becoming trendy in the United States. You can enjoy these crunchy, fried delights at CrunCheese in the Westfield Annapolis Mall. There are unique combos to order from like the Mozzarella and Hotdog (tip = add the potato cubes) and my personal favorite, Rice Cake (there’s no hotdog inside, just a rice cake and it’s super chewy!). The corn dogs are then coated in sugar (optional) and there’s several dipping sauces to choose from. Yum!
- Father’s Day is around the corner on Sunday, June 16, and a special day to honor the hard-working dads out there. Here are three unique Father’s Day food experiences in the area:
- Sail dad away on the Schooner Woodwind for a Father’s Day Brunch Sail. Guests can raise the sails, steer the boat, or just sit back and relax. The boat will depart from the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel Dock at 11 am and sail past the Naval Academy and into the Chesapeake Bay, returning at 1 pm. The sail is family-friendly and will include an individually packed brunch (skewered and herb marinated hanger steak, cilantro lime-chicken satay, or tomato and basil marinated mozzarella skewer,) sodas, water, plus one alcoholic beverage for each adult. Mimosas, bloody marys, craft beer, wine, and sparkling wine are available for sale on board. Tickets are $101.20 and can be purchased online.
- Set your fondue meter to “more” at Melting Pot in Annapolis, with their Forever Fondue Endless Entrée Menu starting on Father’s Day, then every Monday to Thursday, through August 1. Endless entrées include the Land and Sea, Steak Lovers, or Classic. Choose either three or four courses: the three-course menu is $49 per person, which includes a salad, Endless entrée, and chocolate fondue; and the four-course menu is $59 per person, which includes a cheese fondue, salad, Endless entrée, and chocolate fondue.
- Will the Chevrolet Corvette or Ford Mustang be crowned the winner? Hang out at the Naval Academy Club for their Father’s Day Cookout and Classic Car Show from 11:30 am to 3 pm. The cookout will include burgers, BBQ chicken thighs, hot dogs, country-style ribs, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, baked beans, grilled potato salad, fruit, dessert, and more. Grab a cold beer or signature drink, listen to music, play yard games, and vote on your favorite classic car. Seating is family style on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are $45 for members of the Navy Academy Club and $50 for non-members. RSVP to attend by calling (410) 293-2632 or email clubreservations@usna.edu.
