Guess who’s back…back again? It’s Mrs. Wong’s Chinese sesame balls! What are sesame balls? They are a traditional Chinese dessert that is made from glutinous rice flour and filled with either yellow mung bean paste or red bean paste (both are sweet). The balls are then rolled in sesame seeds and deep-fried until they are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They are often served during Chinese New Year (which is on Saturday, February 10) for dessert, as they are thought to bring good luck. Mrs. Wong is selling them: 3 for $5, 6 for $10, or 12 for $20. Text her son, Sean, at 410-349-6514 to order. Pick up will be 11am on the following days at Mings Café in Severna Park (480 Governor Ritchie Highway): Friday, February 2; Saturday, February 3; Friday, February 9; or Saturday February 10. Payment is either Cash or Venmo upon arrival.
