- Call me Ishmael… except this Moby Dick is at the House of Kabob, located in Beacon Square, one of the newest retail hubs in Annapolis off Riva Road. Serving authentic Persian food with a Mediterranean flair and rich flavor, this restaurant offers tender beef, chicken, and lamb kabobs, as well as falafel, pita sandwiches, salads, dips, and more. A fan favorite is the Moby Dick’s Super Combo, which comes with a joojeh (chicken) kabob, plus either chenjeh (chunks of beef) or a barreh (lamb) kabob. The dish is served with rice, half rice and half salad, or bread. The combos come with pita and must-o-kheyar, a creamy, minty cucumber yogurt dipping sauce. If you’re taking the family to eat, check out the family platters, which feature a variety of food to satisfy all!
- Looking for a place to relax and unwind? The mall might not be your first thought, but Seoul Blues Café in the Annapolis Mall has good vibes, delicious brews, and Korean pastries. Outside of the food court between the old Sears building and the Red Garage, you can grab a delicious hug in a cup or sit beside a gigantic teddy bear. Popular drinks include the Lotus Latte (espresso infused with luscious cookie butter and crowned with fluffy foam and a Biscoff cookie), Seoul Blues Dabang (special concentrated blend paired with creamy condensed milk and poured over smooth milk), and strawberry boba. They have many dessert options to pair with your drink like Korean bread options (pro tip: order the red bean bread), cookies, cake, macarons, and ice cream.
- P.S. They have a ton of tabletop games!
- An event you don’t want to miss! The annual Made in Maryland Festival is this Sunday, August 11 at Kurtz’s Beach. This one-day-only event highlights our state’s best vendors and entertainment from artisans, crafters, live jousting, food vendors, local wineries and breweries, live music, children’s activities, golf, and more! Did I mention you can tee off biodegradable balls into the Patapsco River? This year, Kurtz’s Beach is proud to support the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit grant-making organization dedicated to improving the watersheds of the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland Coastal Bays, and Youghiogheny River. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate for $15. Kids 12 and under are free!
- Pro tip: Bring a couple of lawn chairs and sunscreen to sit and enjoy the live music!
