- Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The Motherlode, Annapolis Moms Media’s Spring 2024 issue is HERE! Check out the Food and Dining Section for more local highlights. Like 10 Anne Arundel County Farmers Markets to visit, now that the weather is getting warmer. The Anne Arundel County Farmers Market off Riva Road will be opening on Saturdays starting this week.
- Looking for another hole-in-the-wall place to grab food? Stop by Tessa and Sons Philippine Market, a small, family-run Filipino grocery store in Glen Burnie that sells tons of Filipino packaged and fresh food. Highlights include the BBQ on a stick, lechon (roasted suckling pig), and suman malagkit (sweet sticky rice, sugar, and coconut milk).
- It was Colonel Mustard in the study with a candlestick! Yes, you too can participate in a murder mystery dinner at Maggiano’s in the Annapolis Mall on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $65, which includes a three-course family-style dinner and a homicide investigation.
- Maggiano’s is also hosting a kid’s cooking class, featuring Italian meatballs on April 21 at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy a breakfast buffet and coloring activities, then kids will put on their own chef hat and apron. Chef will demonstrate how to prepare Italian meatballs while your little chef follows along creating their very own. The class is recommended for kids ages 4-12. Tickets are $36.95 for one adult/one child paring, $16 for an additional child, and $20 for an additional adult.
- This deserves its very own shout out: J. Alexander’s carrot cake is to die for. It is not the prettiest looking carrot cake, but it may be the best (don’t judge a book by its cover). Warm, moist cake made in-house, with pineapple, pecans, coconut, and carrots; finished with a velvety cream cheese icing. If you haven’t tried it – run! – you are missing out on life.
- Larger Than Life, Life is a Highway, Love Story, and Like a Virgin – what do these songs have in common? They were all on my music bingo gameboard for songs that begin with the letter “L”. Grab some friends and join fellow music-goers at RegionAle on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. for five rounds of Music Bingo, hosted by Charm City Entertainment. Blackout your card in the final round and you could win the progressive jackpot! Winners receive $5 for Rounds 1-2, $10 for Rounds 3-4, and $15 for Round 5. Free to play!
- Don’t forget – it’s also Tuesday for Tots. Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal!
