Bay Hills Eye Care is a family-owned and operated Optometric practice in Arnold, Maryland, founded in 1983. We strive to provide quality, compassionate, patient-centric care for a 5 star experience.
Our office has a small staff of 5 FT/1 PT amazing cross-trained employees and 3 Optometrists. We are looking for a part-time office assistant to join our family. We are looking for someone with long-term availability who fits in with our positive office culture and enjoys coming to work each day.
We offer a competitive hourly rate based on experience, in-house vision benefits, as well as paid Federal Holidays. We are looking for someone 20-30 hours per week with a customizable mix of days and times. We do have summer and holiday help, so this position would be ideal for a parent who is free during the day while their children (or child) are in school. We are open M-F and NO weekends!
Job Qualifications
-Due to access to protected patient information, age 18 or older
-High school diploma or equivalent
-MUST be good at multi-tasking and have excellent time management skills
-Reliable transportation
-Looking for a team player who is able to work well with other staff members
-Friendly personality and desire to provide an excellent customer service experience
-Self-motivated to learn and assist in other departments when help is needed
-Previous experience in an Optometry, Optical, or Ophthalmology office is preferred, but not required. Will train the right personality.

Job Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Assisting with all front desk duties (checking in and out patients, taking/processing payments, pulling insurance authorizations and patient paperwork, answering phones, scheduling appointments, reviewing paperwork and pricing, responding to patient communications)
-Assisting our technician with pre-testing of patients (creating patient health records, performing pre-exam testing as required by the doctor and appointment type)
-Assisting with contact lens ordering via our online platforms as well as prepping statements from our vendors each month
-Other slow-day tasks (cleaning up contact lens trial room, learning/helping in our Optical department, restocking supplies in the exam rooms, etc).
