Grab your four-legged friends and some floaties, the SPCA Puppy Plunge is back. This annual event raises funds for the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, the county’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization.
On August 20, canines and their human companions make a splash on the South River with live music by the Eastport Oyster Boys. From 11 am to 2 pm, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy food truck fare at one of the picnic tables under the shade. There will also be a tiki bar courtesy of Moveable Mixtures.
For the furry foodies attending, Rock’s Canine Cuisine will be available. If you’re not into dog treats, there are plenty of other tasty options from The Daily Crepe, Crabtown Curbs, HarborQue, Izzy’s Concession & Grill, Kona Ice, and Bragg Cafe.
Sign up your pup for the annual Pie Eating Contest for big and small dogs (15 lbs and under) at 12:30 pm. Save time by pre-registering online for free and paying a $5 donation registration fee at the event. Day-of registration is also available.
Enjoy the music, food trucks, a tiki bar, merchandise, vendors, and river access for $10 per car at the gate, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the SPCA.
