Help! At what age should my child be evaluated for orthodontics?

May 29, 2023 by Catherine Garrett

The truth is that there is not one perfect age to begin orthodontic treatment, but there is a right time!  That time is determined by dental development and not chronological age.

However, each child is unique, and their teeth develop at different rates.  We need to consider timing is crucial when treating problems such as a crossbite, crowded teeth, misaligned jaws, or damaging habits. The right timing for treatment of these issues is determined by the type of problem and the child’s stage of dental development.

At Labbe Family Orthodontics we follow the guidelines of The American Association of Orthodontics and recommend that you bring your child in for their first orthodontic exam around the age of seven.  This will allow us to keep a closer eye on your child’s progression.  If early treatment is necessary, we can optimize his or her treatment by getting started at just the right time.

This week’s Local Food Finds is a bittersweet one.

Bitty & Beau’s has been part of downtown
Annapolis for years, and now the shop is getting ready to close its doors on September 13.

From coffee runs and sweet treats to the familiar faces behind the counter, it’s a place that will
be missed around City Dock.

If you’ve been meaning to stop by, there’s still time for one more cup.

Read the full Local Food Finds article at the link below and in our bio and share with someone who loves BITTY & BEAU’S!
