Get Your Engines Running!

July 31, 2023 by Frank Bolinsky

Maryland’s largest outdoor go-kart track is only 20 minutes away from Annapolis in Crofton. The Crofton Go-Kart Raceway has a windy track that is ½ mile long and has 20 different turns.

If your children are eight or older, and 54 inches tall, then they can drive their very own mini-Formula 1 race car karts.  You can ride in a double kart with them if they are between two and eight.  I took my son when he was little, so we did the double kart.

We bought six tickets and drove the track that many times consecutively.  The cost depends on how many tickets you purchase.  My son loved it and I think that we did just the right number of runs.  This is a great place to take young kids to see if they enjoy it and I think older kids would have a blast driving individual karts with their friends.  We spent maybe 30-45 minutes here having a blast! They have vending machines, bleachers and a picnic area, but we opted to get food close by in Waugh Chapel.

Address: 1050 MD-3, Gambrills, MD 21054

Cost:  Varies, but roughly $4 a lap

Ages: 2 and up

Distance from Annapolis:  15-20 minutes

💻✨ What if your

💻✨ What if your child’s love of technology could grow into real, lifelong skills?

At iCode Gambrills , our community supporter, their Belt Program is a structured, school-year STEM curriculum inspired by the progression of martial arts. Students enroll in an age- and experience-appropriate belt level and build their skills through hands-on projects, instructor-led lessons, and consistent weekly classes.

Each belt explores different areas of technology, including coding, robotics, game development, artificial intelligence, engineering, 3D design, app development, and more. As students move through the program, they strengthen their creativity, confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Whether your child is just beginning or is ready for more advanced programming and technology projects, iCode provides a supportive environment where students can learn, create, collaborate, and grow.

🥋 A structured path through STEM.
🤖 Hands-on learning every week.
🚀 Skills that build from one belt to the next.

🎉 Schedule a FREE assessment or trial class to find the right starting point for your child!

Conveniently located in the Gambrills/Crofton area and proudly serving families throughout Anne Arundel County.
