Two South County Men Die in I-97 Crash
Two South County men lost their lives in a crash on I-97 near Crownsville. The single-vehicle collision occurred in the early morning hours of June 17th, and resulted in the car leaving the road and striking several trees. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Two Dead in Murder-Suicide at Odenton Business
A deadly shooting in Odenton has been ruled an apparent murder-suicide at a local bus company facility. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found a female deceased inside the business. Shortly afterward, her estranged husband, who was also an employee of the company, was approached by law enforcement in New Jersey and took his own life.
JCPenney at Annapolis Mall to Close
After months of back and forth, the JCPenney store at Annapolis Mall is officially closing in August. The longtime anchor store will shut its doors for good following a liquidation sale, leaving another major retail vacancy in the once-bustling Westfield Annapolis. However, the latest plans show that a new grocer, Hobby Lobby, and a fitness studio will take the place of the department store.

Broadneck High School senior Collin Kassal has earned a $5,000 music scholarship from the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians (AMFM). The award supports his plans to study music education in college and recognizes her outstanding talent and dedication to music.
