A 43-year-old man was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being struck by a vehicle near Hilltop Lane and Boxwood Road in Annapolis. Police said the pedestrian was crossing outside the crosswalk. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and the driver remained at the scene.
4. Odenton Couple Killed in Piney Orchard Parkway Head-On Crash
An elderly Odenton couple was killed in a head-on crash on Piney Orchard Parkway near Ransom Drive. Police said a southbound Lexus crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Hyundai. The woman, a passenger in the Hyundai, was declared deceased at the scene, her husband died the following day at the hospital. The driver of the Lexus was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
5. Six Injured in Early-Morning Hanover Shooting
Six people, including two juveniles, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an early-morning shooting in the 1300 block of Charwood Road in Hanover. One victim was found at the scene, while five others arrived at area hospitals. Anne Arundel County Police are interviewing the victims as the investigation continues.

Annapolis will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks over the Severn River and Spa Creek, neighborhood parades, downtown America 250 programs, live music and family activities from July 3 through July 5. Highlights include the Sherwood Forest fireworks Friday night, the Annapolis parade and fireworks Saturday, a free “Hamilton” screening at St. John’s College, and parades in West Annapolis, Severna Park, Eastport, and Galesville.
