  1. Fatal Forest Drive Crash Leaves One Dead, One Seriously Injured

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and pickup truck at Forest Drive and Quiet Waters Place in Annapolis. The sedan’s driver was flown to a trauma center, while a male passenger died at the scene. Annapolis Police are investigating the cause..

  1. Man Seriously Injured in Arundel on the Bay Road Stabbing

An adult man suffered life-threatening injuries in a reported stabbing in the 3200 block of Arundel on the Bay Road. Maryland State Police aviation was requested, and early radio communications indicated the assailant may have remained in the area. The initial details were subject to confirmation by police and fire officials.

  1. Pedestrian Flown to Shock Trauma After Hilltop Lane Crash

A 43-year-old man was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being struck by a vehicle near Hilltop Lane and Boxwood Road in Annapolis. Police said the pedestrian was crossing outside the crosswalk. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, and the driver remained at the scene.

4. Odenton Couple Killed in Piney Orchard Parkway Head-On Crash

An elderly Odenton couple was killed in a head-on crash on Piney Orchard Parkway near Ransom Drive. Police said a southbound Lexus crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Hyundai. The woman, a passenger in the Hyundai, was declared deceased at the scene, her husband died the following day at the hospital. The driver of the Lexus was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

5. Six Injured in Early-Morning Hanover Shooting

Six people, including two juveniles, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an early-morning shooting in the 1300 block of Charwood Road in Hanover. One victim was found at the scene, while five others arrived at area hospitals. Anne Arundel County Police are interviewing the victims as the investigation continues.

6. Annapolis Fourth of July 2026 Features Fireworks, Parades, and America 250 Events

Annapolis will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks over the Severn River and Spa Creek, neighborhood parades, downtown America 250 programs, live music and family activities from July 3 through July 5. Highlights include the Sherwood Forest fireworks Friday night, the Annapolis parade and fireworks Saturday, a free “Hamilton” screening at St. John’s College, and parades in West Annapolis, Severna Park, Eastport, and Galesville.

Cyclospora: What Parents Should Know
We’d like to share some important information regarding a significant Cyclospora outbreak currently affecting Michigan and other states. While Maryland has not yet seen a similar surge, it is advisable to take precautions.

Cyclospora is a parasite that causes diarrhea, cramps, nausea, and fatigue. Due to its spherical nature, it can survive soap and water but is killed by heat. To reduce the risk of infection, please consider these guidelines:

Scrub Produce: Use a brush and significant running water to clean firm fruits and vegetables.
Berries & Leafy Greens: Berries should ideally be cooked. For lettuce, remove outer leaves and rinse the remaining head thoroughly.
Pre-cut Fruit: It is recommended to avoid purchasing pre-cut fruit at this time.

If your child develops symptoms, keep them hydrated and contact your pediatrician - especially if symptoms persist or you notice signs of dehydration.
