Nearly 2 dozen Buddhist monks completed a more than 2,300-mile Walk for Peace in Annapolis, arriving at the Maryland State House as the final stop of a pilgrimage that began in Fort Worth, Texas. Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller welcomed the group and highlighted Annapolis’ role as the nation’s first peacetime capital, while the monks also visited the House and Senate chambers and received official recognition for the journey.

5.Vivi’s Chicken n’ Mac Closing Edgewater Shop, Planning Severna Park Location

Vivi’s Chicken n’ Mac announced it will close its Edgewater location at 3059 Solomons Island Road after a little more than a year, with its final day of service set for Saturday. The business says it is expanding with a new Severna Park location “coming soon” at 544 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, while its Arnold location will remain open.

Good news, there’s still time to join in! 🙌 Our amazing Annapolis Moms Community Supporter, Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, is bringing young musicians together for an incredible week of music, friendships, and ensemble fun! 💙🎶

Both CYSO summer camps are happening August 3–7, 2026 at Annapolis Area Christian School in Severn.

🎻 Intermediate Summer Orchestra Camp | Ages 10–14
Led by Robert Stojakovich, students will build confidence, strengthen their skills, and experience the joy of making music together.

🎼 Advanced Summer Orchestra Camp | Ages 14–18
Led by Carlos Castrillón, experienced musicians will dive into full orchestra rehearsals, chamber music, masterclasses, leadership development, and more!

Both camps run 9 AM–3 PM daily and wrap up with a special Friday evening performance for family and friends. 🎶✨ Plus, scholarships are available!
