Shaped by Nature moves from the shifting tides of Benjamin Britten’s Four Sea Interludes to the sharp brilliance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Performed by Stewart Goodyear, “Shaped by Nature” explores how the orchestra brings natural landscapes to life through music. It culminates in the sweeping vistas of Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite. The vast American West is rendered in orchestral color both vivid and enduring.
