London Town 250th: Moving the State Papers

It’s February 14th, 1776, and there’s far more than love brewing over at London Town. 250 years ago, rising tensions and fears of a British presence in the Chesapeake Bay led to the evacuation of important state and county records from Annapolis. Under the armed guard of the Maryland First Battalion, these papers briefly stayed at the William Brown house before continuing their journey inland. Come celebrate with us as skilled interpreters representing soldiers and affected civilians bring the tavern to life. This is an all ages, all day event, included with the price of admission.
