SHOW SYNOPSIS
Adapted from Cheryl Strayed’s book of the same name, Tiny Beautiful Things is based on Strayed’s experiences as an anonymous advice columnist known as “Dear Sugar”. This piece explores the strife of a wide range of human conditions with both extreme compassion and well-timed humor. It is through this advice that Sugar explores her own history and emotional wounds in various states of healing. Working to help others through their own turmoil gives Sugar a pathway to understanding her own journey. This work is particularly timely as our society has had to redefine human connection over the past few years.
Though Tiny Beautiful Things is a poignant snapshot into the way sharing your own story can empower both yourself and others, most of us now have a better understanding that human connection can exist without physical proximity. As we, as a society, look to understand immense loss and recover from forced disconnection, Tiny Beautiful Things reminds us that sometimes the answers on how to move forward can come from the place we least expected.
