Donation Spots in Annapolis

December 25, 2025 by Elizabeth Krischer

Declutter and Do Good

Where to Donate, Consign, or Resell in the Annapolis Area

Christmas has come and gone. Now that you have cleaned up all the wrapping paper, you need to figure out where to put all those gifts. If you’re a little short on space, maybe it’s time to take a look inside those closets and storage rooms. Do you have clothes that are a bit too small or too big, toys that your kids have outgrown, or household items collecting dust? Well, these Annapolis area nonprofit organizations, thrift stores, and consignment shops will be happy to take those things off of your hands.

Donation Centers

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake

Goodwill has eight donation centers in the Annapolis area. They will accept most items of clothing, toys, furniture, and more, as long as things are in good condition. You can also have them pick up donation items for a fee.

Items Accepted: According to their website, “Goodwill accepts donations of clean, gently-used clothing and household items.”
Address: Visit their website to find your nearest location.

Online Options

Green Drop

This is a service that provides a truck and movers to come and pick up boxes and bags of items that you want to donate. You can schedule a pick-up online at your convenience. The organizations they support include the Purple Heart Foundation and the American Red Cross. Or you can drop off your items at their Arundel Mills or Laurel locations.

Freecycle

If you have any items that a consignment shop or donation center won’t accept, but you still think it might be in good working order, try Freecycle. It’s a website where you can post your goods online and people will message you to determine pick-up time and place. Then you’ll know for sure that your item will go to someone who really wants it.

Once you have finished going through your closets and storage spaces, pack everything up and head to one of these local sites. Give a boost to local businesses, the community, and even your wallet. Then start the New Year off fresh with a clean and well-organized home!
