Just because City Dock is under construction doesn’t mean the businesses on Dock Street are closed! As the city addresses the frequent flooding issues that hit City Dock and work on building out the new public spaces, the businesses that run alongside City Dock will remain open. We don’t want to let any of these local spots suffer during this time! If you’re making a stop downtown soon, be sure to stop by some of these spots.
Annapolis Marine Art Gallery
Having been around since 1987, this gallery has been known to provide the Mid-Atlantic art collector community with impressive, inspiring, and valuable work. With new pieces always coming in, and sales always going out, you never know what piece you’ll find!
Armadillo’s Bar & Grill
This bar and grill recently overhauled its menu, creating a fresh and modern new look. Still offering staples such as wings, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and more, Armadillos is also known for the vibrant nightlife. Thursday nights have happy hour until 8 PM, offering $10 wings, $6 margaritas, and $25 beer buckets, with some Fridays seeing an additional happy hour deal.
Bitty and Beau’s
As far as unique, community-centered, passionate, and caring goes, this place is the epitome of it. I could go on and on about it, but here’s some brief background. Established in 2016, Bitty and Beau’s proudly employs 450+ individuals with disabilities nationwide. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted with people who are genuinely enjoying their work, who feel like they are not only supported, but making an impact in my life as much as I may be in theirs. And did I mention it’s some of the best coffee around?
Dock Street Bar & Grill
Made famous for having the best crab cake in Annapolis, this spot has created a ‘home away from home’ environment for all, from midshipmen to new families. The spot, which was formerly the city jail, ‘Proudly serves those who serve’ by paying homage to first responders and military members in the community. From happy hours and trivia nights to family dinners and private events, they’re here for all your restaurant needs. The menu features nine appetizers, three soups/salads, four sandwiches, two tacos, two pizzas, and three entrees, providing plenty of options for your culinary delight.

Storm Bros. Ice Cream
This ice cream spot has been serving locals and tourists alike since 1967. Having survived several record-breaking floods that have come through the area, Storm Bros. has stood strong through it all. With 43, as of now, different flavors in their repertoire, they also have two sherbert, two sugar-free, and one frozen yogurt option. From there, it’s your choice: single, double, or triple scoop? House-made waffle cone, standard ice cream cone, or house-made waffle bowl? Maybe you want a sundae or shake? They have those too!
While City Dock may be getting some work done, the heartbeat of this waterfront block is still very much alive. Every one of these businesses on Dock Street is still very much open. They are still serving the community by pouring out effort, energy, and love to help make your experience as positive as possible. Let’s return the favor by showing up for them!
